My impression of a KATE conference

Here is my impression of yesterday’s conference.

I participated in a KATE conference held on Hakuoh University campus yesterday.

Among some presentations I attended, the one that I want to share with you here is the one by a group of Shimotsuga teachers. They incorporated a ‘retelling’ activity into class for junior high students. The method was intended to improve students' four skills of English. I was interested in retelling because I had classes with that while I was practice teaching a few months ago. Through thatI knew retelling was not that easy to implement in class because of inadequacy of students' ability to paraphrase given sentences. I also experienced that the activity required a high level proficiency on the part of the teacher.
In the presentation, I felt that all these teachers had been striving to make students great English speakers. I think I want to see what the students will be in the future.

I think attending such a conference is of some importance because we are able to get much information and have meaningful interactions with a variety of teachers. I had a great time yesterday.
Thank you very much for asking me out.
