Narita Airport closed one of its runways on Monday afternoon after an Air Canada airplane mistakenly entered a taxiway that is under construction upon its arrival.
An Air Canada plane from Montreal mistakenly entered the taxiway on its way to an aircraft parking apron after landing on the airport’s B runway. The aircraft stopped there at around 3:45 p.m., forcing the runway to be closed.

apron /éɪprən/ を取り上げます。料理をする際に身に付ける「エプロン」と日本語でもカタカナで使われますが、ここではそれとは異なる意味で用いられています。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版 研究社）で引くと、上記の意味の他に「エプロン状のもの；（演劇）張り出し舞台（apron stage）；（飛行場の）エプロン（格納庫前の作業広場や航空機の停留場所）」などとありました。
LDOCEには、航空関連のものとしては “the hard surface in an airport on which planes are turned around, loaded, unloaded etc” と定義されています。
