bells and whistles 復習
クラスメートの一人が先生に質問していた表現を紹介します。bells and whistlesです。第一印象では直訳以外浮かばず、頭にクエスチョンマークでしたが、先生がすぐに意味を説明してくださいました。put bells and whistlesで“make something look good with extra pieces for decorational interest” とのことです。以下辞書の定義です。
