stay-log from Nebraska

Two weeks have already passed since I came to the U.S. I feel that my English ability has improved day by day, but at the same time, I realize that I still need to concentrate more on learning English.

My classmates consist of two Japanese, one Malaysian, one Chinese, one Taiwanese, and one Vietnamese. Everybody is so nice.

Having spent almost two weeks with them, I came away with a very strong inferior complex. Especially the Taiwanese guy always leads five of us, in- and outside- of the class.

I sometime miss chances to initiate the talking. However, I don’t want to be led anymore. I will try to stand out and take the initiative.

Thanks to my outdoorsy personality and friends I made with in Lincoln, I found a bunch of interesting points. Let me share some of them about food I have eaten since the first day.

I usually have meal in the dining hall of the dormitory I live in . On the first day, the varieties of food the residence can take made me really surprised.

Even for breakfast, there are more than 10 kinds of foods. I don’t want to forget that moment.

By now I am totally influenced by “hamburgerism”. Once I walk around down town, I always put hamburger on the top of my “to-eat” list.

On Saturdays, and Sundays, I go to a coffee shop “THE COFFEE HOUSE” to do my homework. The shop is not only “insta-genic” but also modernized, so it is really comfortable to stay there.

Americanized ramen makes me miss Japanese Ramen. These are the pics of one of the Ramen restaurants in Lincoln where I slurp Tonkotsu Ramen.

I not only learn every day but also eat well every day. Next story of my stay-log is about difference between Japan and the U.S. See you next week. (WREN@Nebraska)
