政府は2019年2月24日以降に新元号の発表をする予定です。

今回調べたのはencode / ɪnkóʊd /です。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第四版,大修館書店）によると「<通信文・データなど>を符号化[コード化]する;符号化して発信する,〈（外国語の）語句〉を使って発表[発信]する,〈多言語の語句〉を正しく書く[話す]」とありました。また、LDOCEにはto put a message or other information into codeと記載されていました。Codeに「…にする」などという意味の接頭辞であるen-から成り立っている単語であることが分かりました。ちなみに反対の意味の「〈符号[コード]化された通信文・データなど〉を（受信して）複合化する,（元に戻して）解読する;〈外国語〉の意味を理解する」という意味のdecode / dìːkóʊd /という単語があることもわかりました。(rain)
