気になった表現はunder the sunです。一見「晴天下で」といった訳になりそうですが意味が通りません。そこで『ジーニアス英和辞典』で調べてみると「この世で［の］，天が下に［の］」「[everything under the~]ありとあらゆること」「[nothing under the ~]まったく何も…ない」「《まれ》［通例What . . .?構文で］いったいぜんたい」と、組み合わせ次第で様々な意味になることが確認できました。上記はevery nationality under the sunなので「ありとあらゆる国籍」といった意味になりそうです。(Kiwi girl)
