　セガホールディングスは「メガドライブ」の復刻版を今年中に発売することを発表しました。

Nintendo, Sega give new life to classic game consoles

Nintendo Co. and Sega Holdings Co. are releasing replicas of their classic video game consoles, which were big hits in the 1980s and ’90s, in a bid to attract former game afficionados.

On April 14, Sega announced that it would release a replica of its 1988 “Mega Drive” console this year. It will be about one-fourth the size of the original console, and the company is currently deciding what software will be installed.

“We’re responding to demand from fans of the console. I want them to enjoy the excitement they felt back then,” said Sega Honorary Chairman Haruki Satomi.

　resurrect /rèzərékt/ を取り上げます。頭にreがついているので、再現するという意味になりそうだと思いました。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版　研究社）で調べると「1（廃れたもの）を復活させる、再び持ち出す、むし返す 2（死者）をよみがえらせる」とありました。

　LDOCEには “to bring back an old activity, belief, idea etc that has not existed for a long time” と定義されています。復活するまでの期間が長い様子が伺えます。

　復刻版は当時の大きさの4分の1で、収録するゲームはまだ検討中であるとのことです。（aqua）
