　まず意味を OED でみると、“Without embarrassment or shame” と定義されてました。また Cambridge Dictionary には unabashed で “without any worry about possible criticism or embarrassment” とあります。
　次に unabashed の語源を ONLINE ETYMOLOGY DICTIONARY でみると、“1570s, from un- (1) "not" + past participle of abash (v.). Related: Unabashedly” とあり、abash を OED 確認すると “Middle English: from Anglo-Norman French abaiss-; compare with Old French esbaiss-, lengthened stem of esbair, from es- ‘utterly’ + bair ‘astound’.” とありました。
　以上のことから、語幹である abash は「恥かしめる」という意味を持ち、そこから unabashedly は「恥じず、物怖じしない」となることがわかりました。(OkaUchi)
