Hanyu set to receive People’s Honor Award; youngest ever
Yuzuru Hanyu, who became the first male figure skater to win back-to-back gold medals in 66 years at the Pyeongchang Olympics, is expected to become the youngest-ever recipient of the People’s Honor Award.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said at a news conference on March 2 that the government is considering giving the 23-year-old the honor.

land /lˈænd/ を取り上げます。動詞では着陸するという意味がまず思い浮かびますが、ここではそれとは異なった意味で用いられています。『ライトハウス英和辞典』（第5版 研究社）で調べると「（略式）（仕事など）を獲得する；（魚）を釣り上げる」という意味があることがわかりました。
LDOCEには “to succeed in getting a job, contract etc that was difficult to get” と定義されています。手にするのが難しいものを手に入れる時に使われるようです。
この記事では、怪我によってしばらく練習ができていなかったにもかかわらず、見事金メダルに輝いた様子をlandで表現していると思いました。（aqua）
