GANGNEUNG — Figure skater Satoko Miyahara landed fourth at the Pyeongchang Olympics on Friday, scoring 146.44 points in a nearly flawless free program for a total of 222.38, both career bests. Kaori Sakamoto came in sixth.

Hailing from Kyoto, Miyahara, 19, won her fourth national title in a row in December to earn a place in her first Olympics. She finished second at the world championships in 2015 and also came in second twice at the Grand Prix Final in 2015 and 2016.
Miyahara suffered a stress fracture in January last year but made a comeback that included winning at the Skate America competition held in late November.
