　気になった単語はentice/entάɪs/です。en- から始まっている単語なので「中へ」や「その状態にする」などの含みがある単語なのではないかと思いました。『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版,大修館）には「…を〔…から/…に〕誘惑する,誘う,〈動物〉をおびき寄せる」やSVO into doing/SVO to doで「〈人〉をそそのかして…させる」とありました。
語源はラテン語のintitiareでやはりin-とtitioに分けられるようです。tititoは「たいまつ」の意味があるようで「火をつける」が本来の意味だそうです。（rain）
