It's a cold, overcast and blustery day in Iceland, but that hasn't put off the busloads of tourists at the Blue Lagoon - one of the country's most popular attractions.
The lagoon is a pool of geothermally heated water. It is rich in minerals and is said to be good for your skin.
Its creation is something of an accident. Locals noticed the run-off from a local geothermal power plantwas a strange shade of blue and started bathing in it.
Located between Reykjavik and the airport, it's now become a "must-do"'on tourist itineraries.

“blustery” /blˈʌstəri/ を取り上げます。『ジーニアス英和辞典第5版』(大修館) によれば “blustery” は「風の激しい、嵐が吹く」という意味があり今回の文脈では「風の強い日、厳しい日」と訳されることがわかります。また、英英辞典をみると “with strong winds” と強く風が吹く様を表していると定義されています。
“blustery” はもともとドイツ語で「吹き荒らす」という意義のある “blüstren” から来ていることがわかりました。またこの語は嵐がビュービュー吹き、波はゴーゴー荒れ狂う様を表しているため “blow”、“devastate” や “sweep” よりも強いニュアンスを含むそうです。
アイスランドには世界遺産に登録されている シンクヴェトリル国立公園などで構成されている「ゴールデンサークル」 があったり、冬には満天のオーロラを堪能できるスポットもあるため観光に持ってこいの国といえるでしょう。(Hapidra)
