　外国の子供たちも日本の伝統的な行事を楽しんでいます。

KOBE--About 30 foreign children donned colorful kimono or wide "hakama" skirts to take part in a time-honored Japanese rite of passage event at a local shrine here Oct. 29.

Girls aged 3 and 7, and boys aged 3 and 5 participate in the Shichi-Go-San festivity throughout Japan, but it is rare for a special event to be laid on for foreign youngsters.

The Kobe event has been held annually for 37 years and enables the youngsters to experience such a traditional event. It is one of the city’s cultural exchange projects.
