“perform one’s ablutions” (ablutionは/ əbluʃən /) を取り上げます。まず “ablution” を『リーダーズ英和中辞典』(研究社)で調べると, 「体[手]を清めること」とありました。通例, 複数形で用いられるそうです。 “perform” または “make” と共起することにより, 「斎戒沐浴する」といった意味を示します。
