　気になった表現は“in stitches”です。“stitch”を『ジーニアス英和辞典』（第五版、大修館書店）で調べると「急な痛み、さしこみ」とあり、ランニングや笑いによる痛みの場合は単数形で用いることがわかりました。
　一方で「おなかがよじれるほど笑って、笑い転げて」と大爆笑する様子を表す時は“in stiches”と複数形になるようです。Merriam-Websterでも“in a state of uncontrollable laughter”と定義されています。
