Koike: Market can move to Toyosu in winter 2017 at earliest
Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike said relocating the Tsukiji fish market to the Toyosu area will not happen until winter 2017 at the earliest, and that’s only if all safety checks are cleared without a hitch.
Even under that best-case scenario, construction of infrastructure for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be affected.
“A comprehensive decision on when to move the market will come only after a scientific evaluation” concludes the Toyosu site is safe for use as Tokyo’s largest wholesale market, Koike told a news conference on Nov. 18.

『ウィズダム英和辞典』(第３版、三省堂)で“hitch”を引いたところ、名詞的用法の第１義には「(一時的な)支障、障害」とありました。確認のためにLDOCEも引いたところ、“a small problem that makes something difficult or delays it for a short time”と定義されていました。なので“without a hitch”で「何の障害もなく」という意味になります。
