LDP poised to secure 2 Lower House seats in by-elections
The ruling Liberal Democratic Party is on course to win two Lower House seats in by-elections in Tokyo and Fukuoka on Oct. 23, dealing a blow to the largest opposition Democratic Party.
A candidate on the LDP ticket is projected to win in the Tokyo No. 10 constituency, while the ruling party plans to list a son of a deceased LDP lawmaker as its candidate in the Fukuoka No. 6 constituency once he is declared the winner.
