“pumping money into the economy”を取り上げます。pumpは水をくみ上げる時や、空気を入れるなど液体や気体に関連して使われるイメージがありましたが、『ジーニアス英和辞典』によると「(大量のお金などを)(…に)投入する」という意味がありました。

LDOCEで確認すると“to put a lot of money in a project, investment etc”と定義されていました。ここでは「市場に資金を注入する」という訳がしっくりとするかと思いました。(lua)
