長野県の北アルプス蓮華岳で遭難した55歳の男性の死亡が確認されました。
Accidents in mountain areas leave 7 dead; 16 rescued
Norikazu Yamamuro, 55, a Tokyo metropolitan government employee from the Tokyo suburban city of Hachioji was discovered by a rescue team from the Nagano Prefectural Police mountain rescue squad at around 9 a.m. on May 1 in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest near the Osawa valley on the northern side of the 2,799-meter high Mount Rengedake in the Northern Alps bordering Nagano and Toyama prefectures.
Yamamuro, who had fallen while backcountry skiing, was confirmed dead shortly thereafter.
According to officials from the Nagano Prefectural Police Omachi station, Yamamuro had arrived on the mountain together with two friends on April 29. He fell around 200 meters while descending the mountain on April 30, and had become unable to move.
