波乱の幕開けかで始まった大相撲春場所二日目の取組からです。「波乱」は，次のように表現されていました。

『スーパーアンカー英和辞典』第5版（学研教育出版）には，tumultuousは第一語義に「（集会・群衆などが）騒々しい，騒然とした」，第二語義に「（海・風などが）荒れ狂う」，「[比喩的に]心が動揺した，興奮した」とありました。LDOCE5には，第一定義は“full of activity, confusion, or violence”，第二定義は“very loud because people are happy and excited”とありました。この場合は，観客の側から見ると，「相撲が面白くなってきた」という感じがいたしますし，枕を投げている観客の姿が想起できます。初日が黒星スタートの横綱2人にしてみれば，「相撲の取り方が安定していなかった」ということでしょうか。因みに，JN（紙版，2016年3月14日付）の記事では，14日の白鵬の相撲の取り組みの様子を“clumsily relied on relied on a pulling technique after the jump-off against komusubi Takarafuji”と表現しています。この日に負けたもう一人の横綱鶴竜の取組は，“The yokozuna tried to get a strong grip on his opponent in the center of the ring, but the sekiwake resisted vehemently”とあります。それぞれの描写から，「脇の甘さ」のようなものが読み取れそうです。（Kawada）
