先ほどと同じ記事から表現をもう１つ採り上げます。
BMW X1はBMWらしからぬ乗り心地の悪さや収納スペースの小ささのために，初代の完成度はいまひとつと言われていました。しかし，マイナーチェンジを繰り返し，今や優れた完成度を誇るものになったようです。それでも課題は残っています。その１つが２列目シート席の中央足元のスペースです。
par for the courseは，ゴルフを知っている人であれば，意味を容易に想像することができるかもしれませんが，「予想通りで, 当然で」というイディオム（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）。英英辞書にもto be what you would normally expect to happen - used to show disapproval（LDOCE）とありました。そして，ここで気をつけておきたいのがused to show disapprovalという部分。ゴルフのパーは「合格点」のような気もしますが，このイディオムの場合，予想は予想でも今回の「欠点」のように否定的なニュアンスが含まれることを押さえておきましょう。（Koyamamoto）

Time was we all knew where we stood with a 4x4. They were big, agricultural, unwieldy things that were fantastic off the road, but pretty poor on it.
…Up front, the broad-shouldered might find the doors a touch close to their elbows, but that’s really the only criticism we could find. There’s loads of storage for odds and ends, and some chunky door bins too.
Meanwhile, in the back, there’s tonnes of leg, head and elbow room for the two outer passengers. The middle passenger loses out on leg room, but that’s par for the course in this class of car.
