少し前のニュースですが，遅ればせながらアップいたします。Nikkei Asian Review（電子版，2016年1月21日付）の記事の‘unicorn’という語が目にとまりました。

『スーパーアンカー英和辞典』第5版（学研教育出版）には，この文脈でのunicornに関する記述はありませんでした。ですのでインターネットに頼ることにいたしました。

ft.com/lexiconによりますと，“So-called unicorns are private companies valued at more than $1bn.”と定義されていました。“unicorns”という用語は，神話の「一角獣」から来ていますが，どうして「10億ドル企業」になるのでしょうか。（Kawada）
