SUSHI AND BEYONDのChapter 8ではA Tale of Two Cooking Schools: Part Oneというタイトルが付けられているように，日本の東西をそれぞれ代表する服部栄養専門学校と辻調理師専門学校の2つの専門学校が採り上げられています。
今回採り上げるのはthere is little love lost between ~という部分です。lost loveは「失恋」を指しますが，加えてこの表現はしばしばthere is no love lost between A and Bという形で見られ，「AとBは不仲ではない」という意味になります。今回の部分も「服部幸應氏と辻芳樹氏の間に不和（な関係）はほとんどみられない」と解釈できます。（Koyamamoto）
