“We believe most memorabilia is unnecessary but if someone has a few things that make them warm and happy — for example, personal items from a deceased parent — then it’s OK to keep them,” Imamura says.

“memorabilia”を取り上げます。『ジーニアス第三版』(以下G3)を参照すると「（注目すべき事件・人・事柄の）遺品」、Merriam-Webster Onlineで索引すると"1: things that are remarkable and worthy of remembrance 2; things that stir recollection or are valued or collected for their association with a particular field or interest"とその語義を確認できました。
『Ｇ３』の定義に加え、「思い出の品」としての意味合いをも持ち合わせているのですね。また同サイトによると、ラテン語 "memorabilis”の中性・複数形に由来するもののようです。単数形は”memorabile”となることに留意しておきましょう。（あいづ）
