今回は、昨日先生から教えていただいた表現を取り上げます。

The mayor of an Okinawa city, home to a key U.S. air base, said Tuesday he aims to have a Disney Resort facility built on a land area to be vacated after the base is relocated, with Tokyo expressing full support for the idea.

After holding talks at the prime minister's office with Ginowan Mayor Atsushi Sakima, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said he heard a "very much dream-inspiring" idea from Sakima, for whose realization the central government "will pledge to work all out."

The top government spokesman also revealed that he has already introduced executives at Oriental Land Co., the operator of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea theme parks, to the mayor.

今回取り上げるのは、“very much dream-inspiring”という表現です。“dream-inspiring”は「夢のある」などと表せますが、今回特に注目したいのがその前にある“very much”です。普通の語順であれば、文末など後ろから修飾しますが、今回の記事では倒置（inversion）されているため、このような語順になっています。また、単にある程度の強調であれば“very”だけでも良いとは思いますが、記事にあるように“very much”で修飾していることによって、「この夢のある構想（ディズニーリゾート誘致構想）に政府として全面的に支持していく」というニュアンスが感じられます。(ninetails)
