Tennis: Nishikori falls to Djokovic in World Tour Finals opener

Japanese ace Kei Nishikori was defeated heavily in his first match of the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals on Sunday by world No. 1 and four-time tournament champion Novak Djokovic.

The top-seeded Djokovic took just over one hour to hand Nishikori a 6-1, 6-1 straight-sets loss, with the Serbian not giving up one break point opportunity in his seven service games.

"The result is a little embarrassing," Nishikori said. "He was just too good. He was a world apart."
