東芝は2015年9月中間決算で、営業損失がおよそ900億円の赤字になる見通しを立てました。この状況を招いた主な原因としては、子会社が扱う販売時点情報管理システムの事業不振が考えられます。
Toshiba to post 90 bil. yen operating loss
Toshiba Corp. is seen reporting a group operating loss of about \90 billion for April-September, the first such loss for the period in six years, it was learned on Thursday.
The dismal result, which compares with the year-before profit of \137.8 billion, appears to reflect the continued sluggishness in the lifestyle products and services division.
Major products handled by the division include refrigerators and other white goods, as well as visual and information equipment, such as televisions and personal computers.
Toshiba is also seen suffering a loss on its point-of-sale information management system operations.
Due to the poor performance, Toshiba is seen disclosing a major asset writedown for the POS operations, which subsidiary Toshiba Tec Corp. acquired from International Business Machines Corp. for about \66.5 billion in 2012.
