“disavow”には「（関与・責任）などを否認する、…について知らない（関係していない）と言う」という意味があります。『Wisdom英和辞典』(三省堂) この単語は「率直に…を認める」を表す”avow”に否定の接頭辞を付けたものになります。LDOCEでは、” to say that you are not responsible for something, that you do not know about it, or that you are not involved with it”と定義されていました。記事では、「neuropoliticsへの関与を否定している」ということになります。
