台湾の総統府は中国と66年ぶりに今月７日の土曜にシンガポールで会談を開くことを発表しました。

President Xi Jinping of China, and the leader of Taiwan, Ma Ying-jeou, will meet on Saturday in Singapore, the first such meeting since before the Chinese Communist revolution of 1949 and the retreat of the Chinese Nationalists across the Taiwan Strait.

"rock the boat"を取り上げます。動詞のrockには揺り動かすという意味がありますが、うまく訳すことができなかったので調べてみたところ、LDOCEでは"to cause problems for other members of a group by criticizing something or trying to change the way something is done"と定義されていました。『新英和中辞典』では口語的表現で「大事なときに波風を立てる」とありました。(lua)
