サッカー女子ワールドカップでなでしこジャパンが準準決勝でオーストラリアに1-0で勝利し準決勝に駒を進めました。

Mana Iwabuchi scored during a scramble in front in the 87th minute and defending champion Japan beat Australia 1-0 on Saturday in the Women's World Cup quarterfinals.

記事の中で気になったのは“squirt”です。“squirt”は「［・・から］噴出する、ほとばしる」とありました。「『ジーニアス英和辞典第4版』大修館書店」また、LDOCEには“if you squirt liquid or if it squirts somewhere, it is forced out in a thin fast stream”と記されています。

なでしこジャパンは準決勝で地元カナダを破ったイングランドと試合を行う予定でありますが、勝ち進んでワールドカップ連覇を成し遂げて欲しいと思います。（faith）
