a can of worms 復習
目まぐるしく、あっという間に教育実習初日が終わりました。反省点は山ほどありますが、詳しい実習談については週末に1週分をまとめようと思います。

G4（大修館）で確認しますと “a can of worms”で「《略式》複雑で解決困難な問題[状況]；落ち着きのない人」とあり、例として “open up a can of worms”で「厄介な問題を作り出す」が挙げられていました。LODCEでは “a very complicated situation that causes a lot of problems when you start to deal with it”とあります。
さらに語源をOEDで調べてみますと “Can of worms figurative for "difficult problem" is from 1951, from the literal can of worms a fisherman might bring with him, on the image of something all tangled up.”ということが分かりました。（Inaho）
