飛行中のカルガリー発成田行きエア・カナダ機内でカナダ人の女性客が女児を出産し，予定よりも早く緊急着陸をしました。
taxiは過去にもブログで採り上げられていますが，「〈飛行機が〉(離着陸時に)誘導路を移動する」（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）という意味の動詞。英英辞書ではif a plane taxis, it moves along the ground before taking off or after landing（LDOCE）のように解説されていました。
夫婦は「（出産は）全くの想定外」と話していたそうですが，一歩間違えば大変なことになっていただけに，無事に出産されてよかったですね。（Koyamamoto）

Baby born on Air Canada flight en route to Narita
CHIBA – A Canadian woman gave birth aboard a Tokyo-bound plane after going into labor over the Pacific Ocean, a spokesman for Air Canada said Monday, an event the baby’s father described as “completely unexpected.”
The 23-year-old woman delivered a baby girl with the help of a doctor who volunteered after crew asked passengers for medical assistance.
The plane was given priority to land at Narita International Airport, but by the time it taxied to a halt, it had one more passenger than it had started with.
“I couldn’t imagine. This happened completely unexpectedly,” the father, whose name was not revealed, told Japanese television.
