acronym 復習

アフガニスタン東部でISILによる自爆テロが起こり、死傷者が多数出た模様です。

今回、取り上げるのは“acronym”です。“acronym”は「頭文字《各語の頭字をつづりあわせて作った語で、一つの単語として発音される；NATOなど》」とありました。「『ジーニアス英和辞典第四版』大修館書店」また、LDOCEには“a word made up from the first letters of the name of something, such as NATO from North Atlantic Treaty Organization”と記されています。
