東洋ゴム工業の免震ゴムの性能偽装た問題で、データ改ざんの可能性が浮上した免震ゴムを使用する建物約200棟の中に同社が建設中の新本社ビルが含まれることが分かりました。なんとも皮肉な結果です。その「免震ゴム」ですが、英字新聞にはseismic isolation rubberとありました。isolationは振動を切り離すという意味なのでしょう。英語的な発想による表現だと思いました。（Cat's eyes）
