reciprocate 復習程度
本日は朝から今まで第139回日商簿記検定試験の手伝いでした。受験した方はお疲れ様です。
新ロシア派はウクライナとの戦線から武器を撤去する日程に合意しました。なぜこのような動きになったのかは明らかになっておりません。武器撤去が実現すれば事態収拾に大きく貢献すると思います。記事の中で気になった単語は"reciprocate"です。『Wisdom英和辞典第三版』（三省堂）を見ると「（同じ行為）を相手に返す，返礼する，（同じ感情）を相手に感じる[返す]」などという意味がありました。ODでは"Respond to (a gesture or action) by making a corresponding one"とあります。語源をみると，前後方に動くことから来ているようですね"late 16th century: from Latin reciprocat- 'moved backwards and forwards', from the verb reciprocare, from reciprocus (see reciprocal)"。（Ume）
Ukraine crisis: Rebels 'agree' weapon pullout dates
Rebels in eastern Ukraine have agreed to begin to pull back heavy weapons from the frontline, a Russian general involved in implementing a truce says.
Gen Alexander Lentsov said the pro-Russian rebels had signed the orders to complete the withdrawal over the next two weeks, starting from Sunday.
It is not clear whether the move will be reciprocated by Ukraine.
This comes as Ukraine and the separatists exchanged 191 prisoners, a key part of the Minsk ceasefire deal.
It was the first step carried out successfully under the terms of the 12 February agreements signed in the Belarusian capital, brokered by France and Germany.
