少し前の記事ですが，Detroit Auto Showで発表されたHondaのNSX後継者，Acura NSXに関する記事からの引用です。
on handはこれまでにもブログで採り上げられていますが，「〈人が〉 (必要に備え)すぐ控えて, 居合わせて」という意味の表現（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）。ここでは「オートショーに出席していた」あたりでしょうか。
NSXの後継者はずいぶん前から自動車雑誌の紙面を賑わせていましたが，発売開始となれば世界中の注目を集めそうです。（Koyamamoto）

Acura NSX Makes Debut At Detroit Auto Show
DETROIT – The production version of the Acura NSX made its debut today, an Ohio-made supercar that will go on sale late this year with a price in the $150,000 range.
Honda, which owns Acura, brought out the model with a light show and the sounds of revving engines at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
“As kids, we grow up dreaming of cars limited only by our imaginations,” said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president and general manager of the Acura division. “The NSX is that kind of car.”
Comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who is appearing in ads for the NSX, was on hand for the event.
The NSX, a successor to a model that was sold from 1990 to 2005, is being built at its own plant in Marysville, staffed by about 100 people. Engineering for the model is being led by Honda R&D Americas in Raymond.
“The NSX reflects Acura’s American roots and makes a powerful statement about the strong role being played by our North American operations in envisioning and building the future of Acura,” said Erik Berkman, executive vice president of the Acura business planning office.
