’Tis the season.は，本来クリスマスの季節に使われ「クリスマスがやってきた」のような意味になりますが，ここでは「（あの忌まわしい）受験シーズンがやってきた」と解釈できます。ちなみに‘Tisは古英語でit isが省略されたものです（『研究社 新英和中辞典』研究社）。
加えて，冒頭に続く文にあるFacts crammed in, facts regurgitated outという日本の受験制度に対する批判的な言い回しも押さえておこうと思います。（Koyamamoto）
