Fiveさんのゆず湯に関連して、復習程度ですが、昨日は太陽の高度がもっとも低く、それに応じて日も最も短い「至」の日でした。sol-は「太陽」、sticeは英語のstandに近いととある先生が授業で語っておられました。いずれにしても春へ向かう転換点なのですね。（Starlight, jr.）
Longest shadow, shortest day
Tokyo Skytree casts a shadow over a kilometer long at about 8:50 a.m. Monday in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. This impressive feat came on the day of the winter solstice, when the sun rises to its lowest level and the hours of daylight are the shortest of the year. Monday also saw a new moon on the solstice, an event that only happens once every 19 years and has been considered a day of good fortune since ancient times.
