少々古い記事ですが11月24日のThe Japan Timesのヘッドラインに面白い表現があるとUG先生に教えていただきました。その表現は"shoulder to shoulder with"です。『Wisdom英和辞典第三版』（三省堂）によると「（人・建物などと）肩を触れ合って，協力しあって」などという意味がありました。この単語をみて最初思い浮かべたのは，試合で肩をぶつけあっていることを表すのかと思ったのですが，ここでは，「肩を並べる」という意味合いに近いのではないかと思いました。（Ume）
