scare the (living) daylights out of Aあるいはfrighten the (living) daylights out of Aで「｟くだけて｠A〈人〉をひどく怖がらせる」（『プログレッシブ英和中辞典』小学館）という意味があります。ちなみにdairy cow(s)は「乳牛」のこと。よって今回は「（田舎道を走っている際に）牛を怯えさせる」と解釈できます。（Koyamamoto）
