私自身、今、会計学の博士号を目指していますので、早稲田の今回の決定には何となく違和感を覚えました。revocation（廃止、取り消し）は、revokeと名詞形を作る接尾辞 -ationでできているのですね。（Ume）

Waseda Univ won't strip Obokata of doctoral degree

An investigative panel at the Japanese university that awarded stem cell scientist Haruko Obokata her doctorate has announced that her doctoral dissertation doesn't meet conditions for revocation of a degree.



Waseda University launched the panel headed by a lawyer in March in the wake of a scandal over the controversial STAP cell research led by Obokata.

Obokata, a graduate of Waseda's school of advanced science and engineering, submitted a doctoral thesis to the university and earned a PhD in 2011.

The panel said on Thursday that the paper contains a number of problems, and that the credibility and adequacy of its contents are extremely low.



It also said that if the school's screening process had not been so porous, the paper would not have passed and she would not have been granted a degree.
