New York Today: The Mayor’s Bumpy Ride
Good morning on this chilly but soon-to-warm Monday.
Mayor de Blasio took office with an ambitious agenda on big issues like education, housing and workers’ rights.
But here’s the issue that seems to be getting the most attention lately: his plan to ban carriage horses from the city’s streets.
It is a battle that the mayor has not been winning.
Michael M. Grynbaum, The Times’s City Hall bureau chief, told us the issue “is a great microcosm of de Blasio’s transition from barnstorming campaigner to running a government.”
(UG)
