Mets rreassigned RHP Daisuke Matsuzaka to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Dice-K's opt-out date isn't until late May, so the Mets can start him out at the Triple-A level and bring him up when he's needed, something that could happen as soon as the first week of the season. Jenrry Mejia will open the 2014 season as the Mets' fifth starter.

opt-outは文字通り、opt（choose, cf. option） とoutから出来た言葉で、「自分で選んで（活動・団体などから）身を引く、引退する」となります。そういえばネットでもオプトアウト（ユーザーの意思で購読などを中止できるオプション付きの）のメルマガがあります。（UG）
