Facebookの創始者であるザッカーバーグ氏が米国政府のスパイ活動を批判しました。同氏はブログの中で"should be the champion for the internet, not a threat".と述べております。この中で”champion”という表現が気になりました。『Wisdom英和辞典（第三版）』（三省堂）で調べると「（弱者・主義などの）擁護者，支持者」という意味がありました。「インターネット利用者に対する脅威ではなく，支援者としてふるまってほしい」という願いが込められていると感じます。（Ume）
Mark Zuckerberg 'confused and frustrated' by US spying
The 29-year-old said in a blog post the US government "should be the champion for the internet, not a threat".
His comments come a day after a report the US National Security Agency imitated a Facebook server to expand its spying capability through malware.
Mr Zuckerberg said in September that the US "blew it" on internet spying.
The tech founder said "it seems like it will take a very long time for true full reform".
