President Momii confirms demand for resignation letters from all NHK managing directors

Embattled NHK President Katsuto Momii demanded resignation letters from all 10 managing directors of the public broadcaster on his first day in office on Jan. 25, he confirmed on Feb. 25.

The demand was corroborated by NHK Executive Board members during testimony to the House of Representatives Committee on Internal Affairs and Communications, and confirmed by Momii himself on Feb. 25. Momii had originally refused to comment on reports he'd called on the 10 board members to step down, but admitted he'd done so after it was revealed that the managing directors had in fact submitted resignation letters -- minus the date.
