昨日行われた選挙の結果，舛添新東京都知事が誕生しました。今回取り上げる単語は”romp home in”です。Wisdom英和辞典（第三版）』（三省堂）によると「（人・競走馬などが）楽勝する」という意味でした。新都知事は対抗者に対して100万票以上の差をつけて大勝したため，この単語が使われたのだと思います。
