Kagawa in 999 scare: Paramedics rush to his home as United winger suffers breathing problems after Everton defeat
An ambulance was called to the home of Manchester United star Shinji Kagawa on Wednesday night when the midfielder complained of breathing difficulties hours after his appearance in the champions' defeat to Everton at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old was substituted 58 minutes into the game, but later began to feel unwell on returning to his apartment in leafy Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
It is understood that concerned neighbours were alerted to the Japan international's distress and quickly called for an ambulance. Paramedics rushed to the home of Kagawa.
An ambulance spokesman told the Sun: 'We arrived at the scene within seven minutes to treat a person for breathing difficulties.'
After paramedic care the £17m signing did not need hospital treatment.
A club source told the Sun: 'He had a bit of a turn but he's ok now.'
The defeat to Everton was Man United's fourth in the league this season and leaves them languishing in ninth place, 12 points behind leaders Arsenal, as the pressure builds on new manager David Moyes.
