I got next to nothing done

I am expecting to be here all day--was not really able to concentrate yesterday, so I got next to nothing done. Today things seem to be moving in a better direction.

I got next to nothing done.はわたしもよく使う言い回しです。get~done（〜を終える）とnext to nothing（まったくと言っていいほど）の合わせ技。とくにnext to nothingに観られる発想は英語らしいことこのうえなし。
採点、レポート読み、成績づけ、なのに明日からまた出張...。Next to impossible!（UG）
