labourが気になりました。「苦しい仕事」が原義のlabourですが、文中では「出産所要時間」（『ジーニアス英和辞典 第３版』大修館）という意味になります。Oxford Dictionaries Onlineを当たってみると’ the process of childbirth from the start of uterine contractions to delivery’と載っていました。補足ですが、アメリカではlaborと綴るの対し、イギリスではlabourと表記しますので注意したいと思います。(Shou-VR*)
