ここで気になったのは、panaceaという表現です。これは「｟しばしばけなして｠《…の》万能薬」という意味です。（『ウィズダム英和辞典 第３版』三省堂）また、注には「通例否定的な文脈で用いる」と記載がありました。そこでＷｅｂ上で調べてみると,「…の万能薬はない、ならない」などといった文が多く見受けられました。
英英では次のように定義されています。”something that will solve all the problems of a particular situation”（Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary seven edition）
確認ですが、この語の接頭辞である“pan-”は「全…、総…」といった意味を表します。（『ウィズダム英和辞典 第３版』三省堂）固有名詞の派生語に付く場合は大文字で始め、通例ハイフンをつけます。つまり、「全アジアの」は”Pan-Asiatic”と表します。
